Day 1

Arrival in Chihuahua

According to your time of arrival you are picked up from the airport or bus station in Chihuahua and brought to your hotel. Overnight stay. (Meals: None)

Day 2

Chihuahua – Creel

Today begins early! At 5:30 am you are brought to the train station. Your first stopover is the small logging village of Creel. After having a short rest you are off to the amazing Areko Lake and the Valle de los Hongos y de las Ranas, where you can observe impressive rock formations in the shapes of mushrooms and frogs. Afterwards visit the small Jesuit village of San Ignacio with its famous Mission Church of the same name, as well as an inhabited cave used by the Indigenous community of the Tarahumara. For an extra charge you can also enjoy this tour on horseback and experience the extraordinary landscape in ways not possible on foot. Afterwards, return to your hotel in Creel. Overnight stay. Day 3

Creel – Barrancas

At 11.35 am the train leaves for Barrancas. In the afternoon you arrive at the famous lookout point of Divisadero, which is situated right in the middle of the Sierra Madre Tarahumara. This afternoon enjoy a two hour hiking tour through the Canyon where you can enjoy breathtaking views and meet the legendary Tarahumara Indigenous community who are willing to teach you about their traditional way of life. Overnight stay. (Meals: Breakfast in the hotel)

Day 4

Barrancas – Bahuichivo – Cerocahui

Today we recommend you get up early to join a hiking tour and experience the beautiful sunrise over the Canyon. After breakfast you are off on a short hiking tour to get some last pictures of this amazing and spectacular landscape with tropical palms, banana plantations and beautiful valleys before leaving for the last station. At 1:50 pm your journey continues to Bahuichivo. After your arrival you are brought to your hotel in the small colonial town of Cerocahui. On your way to the village you can enjoy extraordinary rock formations and beautiful waterfalls. Overnight stay. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner in the hotel)


All adventurous travellers should take a ride in the cable car located just a few minutes from the hotel. The views are unforgettable! (Book locally)

Day 5

Bahuichivo – El Fuerte

In the morning, join a hiking tour to the famous lookout point of Cerro del Gallego which offers an amazing view over the Urique Canyon. After a 3 hour hiking tour through the region catch the train at 14:15 to El Fuerte, a beautiful colonial town on the Pacific coast and relax with the swaying motions of the unique ride. After your arrival at 18:10 you will be picked up and brought to your hotel. Overnight stay (Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner in the hotel)

Day 6

Day of Departure

After breakfast you are, depending on the rest of your vacation, brought to your hotel, the airport or the bus terminal in Los Mochis. (Meals: Breakfast in the hotel)
