Agua Azul, Misol Há & Palenque
At 6:00 in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel for a day filled with natural wonders and archaological history. Drive through the mystical jungle which is still covered in early morning fog. After a short stop in Ocosingo for breakfast you reach the magnificent waterfalls of Agua Azul. The bright turquoise waterfalls are a beautiful sight and you should not miss out on taking a refreshing dip in the cool water. Afterwards the tour continues to the waterfalls of Misol Ha, which at its highest point reaches 40 meters. On a tiny, winding path, you can walk behind the water curtain created by the falls for a refreshing experience. Finally, the last stop of the day is the archaeological site of Palenque. It is not the biggest site in Mexico, but it is one of the most impressive as it is buried deep in dense jungle vegetation. The temples and pyramids are covered with vines and create a unique atmosphere. Climb the Templo de las Inscripciones for a spectacular view of the jungle canopy. Archaeologists estimate that there are still 1200 temples yet uncovered. At approximately 21:30, depending on the rest of your vacation you are brought to your hotel or the bus station in Palenque.
